Nothing is More Important!!!

In my experience, regardless of how great your product or service is, if you have the wrong person/s working for you... you my friend are in some serious trouble and here is why...

The Customer Experience

You see and experience it all the time, every time you buy a cup of coffee or anything else. Every single person in an organization affects the customer experience, from the person who answers the phone to the CEO and everyone in between.

It Only Takes One

Yet, it only takes one person to destroy all the money, time and effort spent on marketing, advertising testimonials and past relationship to obliterate a customer’s loyalty forever.

Someone is Responsible

We all have those organizations who we have sworn never to darken their doorways again, for one reason or another, but if you pause and really think about it, someone is responsible for your bad experience/s and that someone... was a bad hire.

A Slice of Heaven

Conversely, the right hire can bring a slice of heaven; they come up with innovative ideas, your customers love them, they go above and beyond and can be the cornerstone of a great organization, and like any good investment, they pay big dividends in many aspects.

Right People on The Bus

In his book, Good to Great by Jim Collins stresses the importance for leaders to ensure they have the right people on the bus and in the right seats.

Here are the steps:

1. Be rigorous in the selection process, to ensure the right people are on the bus.

2. Get the right people in the right seats, be sure to match the person's natural abilities to the position.

3. Have 100% of the key seats on the bus filled with the right people.

4. Get the WRONG people off the bus.

Closing Thoughts

Never underestimate the importance of hiring the right people. Be diligent, be patient, be smart and whatever you do, DO NOT "PANIC HIRE."

In my opinion... “Nothing is more important than hiring the RIGHT people, Nothing! (well at least for your business 😊)
